Yesterday we went for a long walk. When we got to the bridge I didn't get a chance to watch the river, I could only watch my children, in all different stages, experiencing the moment in all their own ways. The whole way to the bridge Erin had been trying to throw rocks in the river from the path, which was much too far for her little arm. Christopher didn't see the river, mostly the path in front of us, and just ran and ran. Kate, with her forethought, gathered rocks in her sweater pocket to throw off the bridge. I had a million mini heart attacks, images of them getting stuck in the bars of the fence, or squeezing under and falling in the water OR getting too close to the cars on the bridge. Josh was with us and in this picture he was just an arms reach away. By the end of the adventure, Kate had shared her rocks with her siblings and all was right with the world.
*sigh*
What a sweet piece, love you posting these wonderful snippets of your family. These days with all moms have to do between work and home, putting these thoughts down in a baby book never seem to happen, but recording them in your blog is way better, plus we get these little morsels of wonders. Keep you the blogs, love that you share them with us. Best wishes for a wonderful New Years, hope to spend some time rving with all of you soon!
