Just End of the Week Stuff

1. We're supposed to take the girls up to play in the snow tomorrow. I hate to be cold and wet. I know they will love it for the first 10 minutes, then Erin will be cold and wet and cranky and Kate will be sad when we need to leave. But I also can't wait to see them in it!!
2. I was flipping channels tonight and stopped to watch What Not to Wear, and was joyful to find that a shirt I had bought this fall was one of the shirts Clinton and Stacy picked out for the girl. Ok, so she was a little bigger than me and has huge boobs, but still exciting, nonetheless. At least I didn't see any of my clothes in the what not to wear portion.
3. My current new obsession on t.v. is Miss America Reality Check. You know, they're trying to change the way Miss America is portrayed. It's all very silly, but at the same time, can they really give "Miss America" a makeover?!? I can't possibly see them getting away from big hair and crazy makeup. Miss Utah kills me. She is not made for this. But Miss Florida is.
4. I'm so excited that American Idol is back on. But I'm really waiting for So You Think You can Dance. And Survivor.
5. I'm thinking I watch a lot of reality t.v. Well that's what happens when there's a writers strike.
6. I have finally made a decision about Kate and kindergarten. I'm going to bring her to my school but put her in the class next door. It will be great and I will still be near her. She's such a mommy's girl. I will know her friends, her teachers, etc. This way at least I will know what's going on with her. I feel like if she were at the school by our house I would be too out of the loop. Sounds silly, but since I have to work full time, why not have my children at my place of employment? Not many people get to do that. :)
7. I think I'm going to start going to a yoga class on Tuesday nights. The only problem is it may be a seniors class. I can't get ahold of the instructor. So I'll show up Tuesday and then not have the heart to leave if it's all blue hairs and it will be slow and weak and the hour would drag on. No, I'm kidding. But I'm hoping it's a made for anyone class. May be good to find my positive chi. A little down time. Just breathe. And then get back in time for American Idol. hahahahahahahahaha
8. There's some great winter clearance sales right now. Do you know Old Navy has already got SPRING stuff out?!? What are they thinking? Except that I got two pairs of work pants for under $25 yesterday. That kicks big booty.
9. I know this was so last week, but what is up with Brittany Spears british accent?!? I know it was all over the media, but someone should seriously institutionalize that chick.
10. Erin sings now. I love it. She can actually carry a tune. Kate - not so much but that girl can draw and dance, so she definitley has her art chosen. :) I hope that they end up being interested in sciences and arts and music... I think it keeps us grounded. Kate took seashells for sharing to preschool yesterday (it was her own choice). Not a new Christmas toy. I love that. And she knows what habitat means. And lots of other big words. She's a freakin' sponge. Both of them are. It's amazing.
11. PLEASE let the rain stop. Indoor recess sucks the life out of me.
12. I made dinner every night for the last two weeks (except last Sat. we went to friends and tonight I was out and about on errands with the girls). Planned the menu and everything. Gotta love how that simplifies my life. Now lets see if I can keep it up...

1.06.2008

Some of you have probably logged on to see a nice story about a friend I might have met while walking my kids to the park. Maybe she had two kids like myself around the same age with stories to swap about motherhood and such. No, that is not the new friend I have.

My new friend is a GIGANTOR zit that has placed itself right between my eyes. It's actually a little closer to my left eye. It's a third eye. And I'm not very happy about it. It's been at least 6 days since it first appeared. And I am a picker, so it took all I could muster to leave it alone for a good 5 days. Then I went and made the whole thing worse than one can imagine. I even avoided eye contact with a guy I went to high school with in the grocery store because of it. Some might say a little zit doesn't matter and I should've been polite. Thank goodness I was wearing a baseball cap because I just pulled it a little lower and kept my eyes on the checkout line. Hopefully he didn't notice my Supermarket Sweep finish to the cash register, all in the name of avoiding an uncomfortable conversation.

So, I've got to live with Zitoni (named so for it's size and color relative to a slice of pepperoni) for a few more days. Thankfully I don't go back to work for another week. The kids never fail to point things like this out. At least by then it will just be a small scab.
