I made a very last minute decision to drive home and see my friends for dinner last week. It turned out to be a very nice Christmas gift to myself. Two friends were home for the holiday and two already live there. Quick phone calls ahead and text messages worked to get some of us together. We were short one friend, who we love dearly and missed that night (hugs to you AGR). It's hard to get all six of us in the same place at the same time, as often life and other commitments come first.
Me, Janae, Meredith, Jennifer, Susie
Who's who? Take a guess and match the number to a person.
1. 4 kids. Country girl. Stay at home mom with big, big dreams. The one I envy as I step into the shower at 5am.
2. No kids. City girl. Travels like a maniac. The one I envy when I am folding socks.3. 4 kids. Epitome of "homemaker". Adapts to her surroundings like a chameleon and a champion. The one who's flexability I envy when my schedule gets a kink in it.
4. 3 kids. Suburbanite. Works full time. Often feels pulled in too many directions but thrives on chaos.
5. 2 kids. Awesome wife. Creative soul. The one I envy when I look at my unpainted walls and half decorated house.
6. 3 kids. Amazing mom. Implementing new life goals. Always perfectly put together. The one I envy when I look at my disheveled self in the mirror.
Trying on frames that Jen brought out for our opinion.
The Answers:

I always think: When our kids are grown and gone we'll have more time and money to plan an exotic beach vacation together where the drink of the day flows aplenty and our skin glows at the end of each day with a perfect sun kissed tan. All in good time ladies, all in good time.
What a fun post to read, I did get a few of you right on the quiz (I know the one you didn't say you envied must have been yourself). I envy you all when I realize I probably will never get together with all the HS friends like that again cus I live too dang far away...
ReplyDeleteAw, I love it and love you! What's funny is the only one I didn't figure out was me! haha. I guess I never thought of myself as au naturale. So by saying that, which of the following do you mean: 1. in the natural state. 2. naked; nude 3. cooked plainly.
ReplyDeleteWe have such awesome friends!
Ok, I edited it from 'au naturale' to homemaker. Homey.
