Our week started with a very quick trip to Laughlin, Nevada. It was awesome to spend 9 hours in the car together with no kids and complete silence, or in conversation without interruption, or blaring music with bad words. Oh, the things that we take for granted when there are three beautiful children in the back seat. The highlight for Josh was driving on route 66. I am thankful for my husband and adventures.
I thought Route 66 was pretty cool too. I am, however, thankful for roads without potholes.
We stayed at the Colorado Belle hotel in Laughlin, where apparently, my grandparents stayed the first time they ever came to Laughlin. I think it was the only casino there at the time. I also believe they have never changed the carpet or mattresses. That being said, I am thankful for family history. This is Kim, Uncle Gary, Grandma and I. I am thankful for a funny family. Truly, I laugh with them. Here's the best picture of Thanksgiving. Kate snapped the green beans for me. I am so thankful for her.

Christopher met his great grandma for the first time and we all met baby Fern for the first time. She is wonderful and beautiful and we are thankful for babies. I am thankful for my friends. I got to see Janae TWICE this weekend. That is a rare occurance and reminds me how much I love spending time with her.
I am thankful for these people. I am who I am because they love me. At least they play along well enough for me to believe they do.
FunThanksgiving, now back to work.:) At least Christmas is just around the corner. Tell you mom she hasn't changed a bit. Erin has a cute cheesy grin like she's posed for a lot of pictures in her life.
ReplyDeleteWow, a trip with no kids...(sigh) can I live vicariously through you?
ReplyDeleteOh, and you haven't seen potholes until you've been to Duluth, MN... where you can't even drive faster than 20 until it snows and fills in the holes!
