WHAT?
I saw one of those teeny tiny new cars out and about today a Smart or Fit, not sure exactly which one. Erin actually said, "Awwwwwwwwwwww..." when I pointed it out to her. Funny girl. She cracks me up most days. But anyway, what on earth is a person who drives one of those cars thinking as they drive down the freeway?! Can it possibly make you feel like you're cheating death and it's just a thrill - adrenaline rush - to cruise down Interstate 80 in a potato? I have friends that will drive nothing smaller than an XXL SUV. Regardless of gas guzzling, I know they feel safer just being able to see the world around them. What can you possibly see out of the tiny Smart or Fit? The ass end of all the SUV's and probably your life flashing before your eyes I would assume.

HAHAHA...And I'm the weirdo that thinks the smart cars are fun and just pre-ordered an Aptera. Maybe it's a Bay Area thing vs. a Sac thing.
ReplyDeleteI totally took pictures of the Smart Cars on the sidewalk in Amsterdam last winter because I thought they looked like Legos. They were the same size as bikes, I swear. At least they have 4 wheels; my other weirdo car has only 3...but it will be allowed in the HOV lane and is way safer than big SUVs or the Smart car since it's a cage style, and I'll only hurtle like a bullet across the median - unless I get punctured of course :)
OMG. That is hilarious. No, I really think environmentally they are a great idea, just a little scary. But if you have your own lane that's even better. I didn't know there is a HOV lane. We don't have those here. So it's a bigger city thing. We're not quite THAT big yet. You so have to take a picture of your Aptera when you get it. Weirdo.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's just the carpool lane, but let's keep it real...it's faster and faster is better - unless you are being projected across 5 lanes of traffic like a bullet because someone hit you. I'm pretty sure I'll be fine though.
